There’s a New Clubhouse in Rosebank and It’s Bringing Sports Fans Together

We pulled up to the launch, and the idea is simple: bring fans together, put the sport on the big screens and create a space where watching the game becomes part of the experience.

From 19 August to 27 September 2026, the Rosebank venue is set to host sports fans across football, rugby, Formula 1, cricket, MMA and more. The Clubhouse forms part of Betway’s wider push to bring its global world of sport into one space, both on screen and in real life.

So, what exactly is the Betway Clubhouse?

Think of it as a temporary home base for people who take their sport seriously.

The Betway Clubhouse takes inspiration from the world created in the brand’s new global campaign. In that world, some of the biggest names in sport all exist under one roof, hanging out, competing and watching the action unfold.

In Johannesburg, that idea has been brought to life at Benchwarmers.

Over the next six weeks, the venue will be a place to catch live sporting action, take part in interactive experiences and enjoy the atmosphere that comes with watching a big game alongside other fans.

Whether you're there for the Premier League, a Springbok game, Formula 1, cricket or MMA, the idea is that there is always something worth pulling up for.

The Clubhouse is part of a much bigger global campaign

The Rosebank pop-up is just one part of Betway's new Betway Clubhouse campaign, which launched globally in August alongside the start of the new English Premier League season.

Created with M+C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment, the campaign brings together 27 sporting and entertainment icons from across Betway's global partnership portfolio.

Thierry Henry takes centre stage as the Clubhouse Manager, welcoming viewers into a world filled with athletes and personalities from football, Formula 1, rugby, cricket, baseball, MMA and more.

The line-up includes names like Erling Haaland, Carlos Sainz, Alex Albon, Bruno Fernandes, Dricus du Plessis and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., alongside players and legends from some of Betway's biggest sporting partnerships.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City all feature, while South Africa also gets plenty of representation.

Springboks Eben Etzebeth, Ox Nché and Damian Willemse appear in the campaign, alongside rugby legends Victor Matfield and Jean de Villiers, footballers Siphiwe Tshabalala and Happy Jele, and cricket stars Graeme Smith and Chris Morris.

One clubhouse, every sport

The point of the campaign is to bring the scale of Betway's sporting world into one recognisable space.

The campaign film acts as a fictional version of the ultimate game-day destination, where footballers, Formula 1 drivers, rugby players, cricketers and MMA fighters can all exist in the same clubhouse.

And while most of us won't be walking into a room with Thierry Henry behind the bar or Carlos Sainz on the F1 simulator, Johannesburg now has its own version of that world.

The Rosebank Clubhouse brings together live sport, interactive activations and a social viewing experience under one roof, turning Benchwarmers into a meeting point for fans over the next six weeks.

A campaign made around the fans

What makes the Clubhouse concept work is that it is not built around one team or one sport.

You might arrive for a Premier League match and come back for Formula 1. You might be a Springbok supporter who also follows UFC. That overlap is exactly what Betway is tapping into.

The campaign's message is “Feel the Action”, and the physical Clubhouse is where that idea moves beyond the screen.

The wider campaign will run across television, digital and outdoor platforms, with additional physical and digital experiences connected to Betway's global sporting partnerships. The campaign was filmed across ten shoots in cities including London, Manchester, Nice and Johannesburg, using bespoke sets and, according to Betway, without the use of AI.

The details

The Betway Clubhouse is open at Benchwarmers Sports Club in Rosebank from 19 August until 27 September 2026.

For the next six weeks, it is the place to pull up, find your sport and watch the action with people who are just as invested as you are.

Because sometimes watching the game at home is not enough.
